Sling TV Buffering & Streaming Fixes

Work through network, device and app checks when Sling TV buffers, stutters or pauses.

Check whether the whole network is slow

Open another streaming service on the same device. If everything is slow, your home network is the first place to troubleshoot.

Improve the connection

Move the router or device to reduce interference, pause large downloads and use a wired Ethernet connection where supported. Network congestion can affect live streaming even when the internet appears connected.

Restart the streaming path

Close Sling, restart the device and, if needed, restart the router. Then test the same channel again.

Check another device

If Sling plays normally on a phone but buffers on the TV, the issue may be local to the TV, its Wi-Fi connection, app installation or device software.

Keep software current

Install available Sling app and device updates. Compatibility issues can appear after operating-system changes if an app version is outdated.

Know when to contact support

If buffering affects multiple supported devices on a stable connection, check official Sling support for service-side guidance and account-specific assistance.
